William R. “Bill” Meek of Oakland, Tennessee, was born Dec. 29, 1942, in McNairy County, the son of the late William Marvin and Tressie Hawkins Meek.

Mr. Meek retired from Western Auto after 35 years of service.  When he retired he was in charge of store installations. He was a 1961 graduate of Adamsville High School and a Mason with Free & Accepted Masons Lodge 722 in Memphis. He was an avid wood craftsman. Mr. Meek attended Pleasants Christian Church in Macon, Tennessee.

He departed this life on Monday, Feb. 11, in Somerville, Tennessee, at the age of 76 years, 1 month, 13 days.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Kaye Frances (Martin) Meek of Oakland, Tennessee, along with a host of cousins, extended family and friends.

Services were held on Thursday, Feb. 14, at 1 p.m., at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Adamsville with James Weir officiating. Burial followed in Good Hope Cemetery at Adamsville.
