Weldon Ray Harris was born June 21, 1945, in Hardin County, the son of the late Raymond Garland and Iva D. Droke Harris. He was united in marriage to Wanda Meek on July 3, 1965.
Mr. Harris retired from Ripley Industries. He was an active member of First Baptist Church in Adamsville and served as a deacon for 24 years. In his younger years, he enjoyed going fishing.
Mr. Harris departed this life Wednesday, April 23, in Adamsville, at the age of 68 years, 10 months, 2 days.
He is survived by his wife Wanda Meek Harris of Adamsville; a daughter, Jane Rae LaDue and husband Danny of Saltillo, Miss.; a brother, Winford Harris and wife Sue of Savannah; four grandsons, Damon, Cade, Brodie and Austin LaDue; sister-in-law, Francis Harris of Adamsville; mother-in-law, Madeline Meek of Adamsville; brother-in-law, Philip Meek and wife Joyce of Adamsville and a host of extended family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Harris and father-in-law, Hillard Meek.
Services were held Saturday, April 26, at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Adamsville with Phil Mitchell, Frank Kemper and Philip Meek officiating. Burial followed at Pine Hill Memorial Garden in Adamsville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to the First Baptist Church of Adamsville building fund.
