Wayne Bowers (8-17-11) services 8-20-11

Wayne Bowers, 70, of Savannah, died Wednesday, Aug. 17.

He was born in Montgomery County, Tenn., the son of Annie Stepp Bowers and the late Willis Abner Bowers. He was united in marriage to June Joy Robinson, who survives.

Mr. Bowers was a truck driver for Jones Exhaust in Adamsville for 10 years.

Services were held on Saturday, Aug. 20, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Keith Smith officiating. Burial followed in the Memory Gardens at Savannah.

In addition to his wife June Bowers, he is survived by his mother, Annie Bowers; a daughter, Gayla Elizabeth Mangus of Hermitage, Tenn.; a son, Wayne Gilbert Bowers Jr. of Chapel Hill, Tenn.; two sisters, Carol Jean Roberts of Vernon, Texas, Patsy Paulk of Fredrickstown, Mo.; a grandchild; step-grandchild; a great-grandchild.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Bowers; and a nephew.
