Tommy May was born in Hardin County, on June 19, 1943, the son of the late Ray and Callie Tidwell May. Mr. May was a self-employed mechanical engineer. He had worked for Colgate Palmolive in Corinth, Miss., and Stauffer Chemical Company in Nashville. He enjoyed hunting and watching all types of ball games.

Mr. May was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Savannah and the Corinth Masonic Lodge in Corinth, Miss.

Mr. May departed this life on Wednesday, Oct. 30, in Jackson, Tenn. at the age of 70 years, 4 months and 11 days.

He is survived by two sons, Steven Kerr and his wife Mary Gordon of Charleston, S.C. and Richard May of Murfreesboro, Tenn. and three grandchildren, Harrison, Will and Molly Kerr. Mr. May is also survived by a special friend, Bettie Barrett of Clarksville, Tenn.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Johnny Paul May.

Services were held on Sunday, Nov. 3, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Helen Hamilton officiating. Burial followed at Memory Gardens in Savannah.
