Thomas "Sonney" Henson Thomas E. "Sonney" Henson was born in Savannah, on Jan. 8, 1945, the son of the late Daniel Nathan and Bertha Blanch Hurley Henson. On Nov. 12, 1961, he was united in marriage to Joyce Juanita Mitchell, who survives. Mr. Henson was a retired custodian. He had worked for Temple Chattanooga, Parrish Manufacturing and for the Hardin County Board of Education. Mr. Henson was a preacher, he loved to go to church and loved to sing whenever someone asked him to. He had lived in Savannah, Nixon community, Cerro Gordo, Crump and Counce. Mr. Henson was a member of Crump Pentecostal Church. He departed this life on May 12, at the age of 67 years, 4 months and 4 days. In addition to his wife, Joyce of Counce, he is survived by two daughters, Jennifer Killough of Michie and Shelia Alexander of Milledgeville; four sons, Ben Henson of Counce, Frank Henson of Adamsville, William Henson of Michie and Allen Henson of Counce; 11 grandchildren, Johnathan, Nathaniel, Dakota, Andrew, Kendra, Jocelyn, Kayla, Amanda, Hannah, Jacob and Felicia; three great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Julie and Elie; one brother, Daniel Henson of Counce; two sisters, Carolyn Smith of Kossuth, Miss. and Katie Keele of Savannah. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two sisters, Becky Todd and Willie Mae Roosevelt. Services were held on Tuesday, May 15, at 3 p.m., at Crump Pentecostal Church in Crump with Gene Hanna, W.D. McCollum officiating. Burial followed in the Crump Cemetery at Crump.
