Ted Smith

Ted Roy Smith, 66, of Savannah, died Wednesday, June 13, in Savannah.

He was born in Hillsdale, Mich., the son of the late Glen and Ola Gertrude Stinger Smith. He was united in marriage to Heather Bidwell, who survives.

Ted was a truck driver for Sarasota Trucking of Sarasota, Fla. He also had worked for Skip Pauly Drilling in Michigan, Gerald White Trucking in Tennessee and Redwing Trucking in Ruskin, Fla. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Bradenton, Fla. and was a member of the Jaycees in Moscow, Mich.

Services were held on Monday, June 18, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with J.P. Gillis officiating. Burial followed in the Neill Cemetery at Savannah.

In addition to his wife, Heather, he is survived by three daughters, Billie Jo Tuttle of Muskegon, Mich., Sonya Sanson and Sandi Martin, both of Savannah; four grandchildren; one brother, Bernard Smith of Reading, Mich.; and one sister, Louise Rutledge of Reading, Mich. He is also survived by his former wife, Shirley Hinkle of Savannah.

He was also preceded in death by one grandchild.
