Sonni Hodge, 53, of Savannah, departed this life on Saturday, Jan. 25. She was born on April 26, 1971, in Iuka, Mississippi, the daughter of Jennie McAnally Gross and the late Jimmy Gross.
On Nov. 19, 2010, she was united in marriage to Michael Hodge, who survives.
Sonni previously worked for The Outpost in Pickwick, Tennessee, for 10 years, and currently worked at CoreCivic in Clifton, Tennessee. She loved going to the beach and spending time outdoors in nature. Sonni loved her grandchildren and her dogs very much. She was a member of the Republican Party and Gracepoint Church in Savannah, Tennessee.
She is survived by her husband, Michael Hodge of Savannah, Tennessee; daughters, Amy Oliver (Troy) of Tuscumbia, Alabama, Heather Rooney (Adam) of Iuka, Mississippi, and Layla George of Florence, Alabama; stepdaughters, Savannah Merritt (Nathan) of Chattanooga, Tennessee and Abigail Hodge of Nashville, Tennessee; mother, Jennie Gross of Iuka, Mississippi; grandchildren, Easton Oliver, Foster Oliver, Addie Grace Rooney, Lottie Kaye Oliver, Liam Rooney, and Zane Chambers; and brothers, Beau Gross of Booneville, Mississippi, Devin Dickey of Coldwater, Mississippi, and Phillip Lewis of Columbia, Missouri.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, Feb. 4, at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Savannah.
