Sam “Butch” Hudspeth, formerly of Sn October 27, 1943. He passed away at the age of 70 on Wednesday, April 16.

Butch was a Class of 1961 graduate from Central High School where he was on the football team. He was an alumnus of Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro.

Butch was a retiree of the United States Postal Service in Lebanon. He was a United States Navy veteran, an avid golfer and sports enthusiast.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Carolyn Clay Hudspeth; daughters, Katherine (Aaron) Stranahan and Meredith Hudspeth; grandchildren, Matthew Probst and Julia and Olivia Stranahan, all of Lebanon; his mother, Gladys Roland Hudspeth of Savannah; niece, Connie O’Neal Copeland (Keith) and their children, Cody and Brianna, all of Bartlett and niece Susan O’Neal Buse (Raymond) and their daughter, Naomi, all of Savannah.

He was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Lee Hudspeth Sr.; a sister, Sharon Hudspeth O’Neal and a brother-in-law, Tommye O’Neal, all of Savannah.

Funeral services were at the Partlow Funeral Chapel in Lebanon on Friday, April 18. Kevin Medlin and Gene Pearson officiated. Burial followed at Wilson County Memorial Gardens.
