Sammie Boroughs
Sammie Boroughs, 85, of Adamsville, died Thursday, Jan. 3, in Jackson, Tenn.
He was born in Decatur County, Tenn., the son of the late Daniel Brian and Katie Leora Seaton Boroughs. He was united in marriage to Frances Hughes, who survives.
Mr. Boroughs was the owner of S & F Groceries in Savannah for 10 years and also owned Bait Shop in Crump for four years. He was a member of Faith Pointe Church.
Services were held on Monday, Jan. 7, at Shackelford Chapel in Adamsville with Bobby Pickett, Scott Melson officiating. Burial followed in the Crump Cemetery at Crump.
In addition to his wife, Frances of Adamsville, he is survived by his children, Sandy Harris of Grand Ridge, Fla., Pam Lumberry of Orange City, Fla., Marla Parker of Deleon Spring, Fla., Kris Benson of Adamsville, Steve Boroughs of Westville, Fla., Jeff Boroughs of Deltona, Fla., Phillip Coleman of Franklin, Tenn., and Alan Hudson of Old Hickory, Tenn.; 18 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Counce of Parsons, Tenn.; and one brother, Tommy Boroughs of Ocean Springs, Miss.
He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Nancy Boroughs; and four brothers, James W., Daniel Woodsie, Johnny and Jewel Boroughs.
