Ruel McGarity Jr. (6-13-15) service 6-16-15

Ruel McGarity Jr., 80, of Sardis, died on Saturday, June 13, in his home.
He was born in Morris Chapel, son of the late Ruel Edgar and Myrtle Ester Carlyle McGarity.
Mr. McGarity Jr. was employed at General Motors Corporation in St. Louis, Missouri as an assembly line operator and a janitorial engineer. He was also a member of the National Rifle Association, United Automobile Workers and the Masonic lodge. 
He is survived by his children, Deborah Arlene McGarity Freshwater of O’Fallon, Missouri, Treasa Ann McGarity of Troy, Illinois, and Sherry Lee McGarity Seitz of Sardis; siblings, Joy Brewer of St. Louis, Missouri and Freddie McGarity of Cahokia, Illinois; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Audrey Inez Hefner; and siblings, Harvey McGarity, Ruby McGarity and Marion McGarity.  
Services were held on Tuesday, June 16, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah. Burial followed in Milledgeville Cemetery.
