Roxie Lee Reynolds Livengood was called to heaven on Friday, July 13, at the age of 88 following a long battle with Alzheimer’s.
She was born at home May 10, 1930, to Jamie and Mirl Reynolds; one of ten children.
Roxie graduated from Hardin County High School in 1948. Roxie was married to her childhood sweetheart, Rayford C. Livengood for 69 and a half years and was blessed with three children, 14 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. In addition to being a member of Turkey Creek Baptist Church for 50 years, Roxie and Ray also lived in Blount County, Tennessee, for almost 40 years, where they were members of Prospect Baptist Church.
Prior to her illness, Roxie was active in her community and church. She enjoyed cooking for strangers and loved ones alike. She spoiled her grandchildren with candy, hugs and bedtime stories. She has left behind a legacy of handmade quilts that are cherished by her family. Roxie and Ray enjoyed volunteering in numerous international missions; traveling overseas to Brazil many times, Tanzania, Israel, Canada and Europe. They also served with disaster relief in the United States with the Southern Baptist Convention.
Roxie is survived by her husband, Ray of Savannah; daughters, Sandra Combs and her husband Gary Combs of Savannah and Carol Francisco and her husband Ben Francisco of Columbia, Missouri; son, Kerry R. and wife Pamela Livengood of Chapel Hill, Tennessee; grandson, Sam Bible and his wife Wendie, great-granddaughters, Mac and Maddie of Savannah; granddaughter, Christy Combs Dickson and great-grandchildren Jordan and Ty of Corinth, Mississippi; granddaughter, Maggie Bible Lomax and great-granddaughter Sibylla of Henderson, Tennessee; granddaughter, Katie Livengood Harper and husband Nick, great-granddaughter Wren of Snow Camp, North Carolina; grandson, Isaac Francisco and wife Lei, great-granddaughters Zoey and Amelia of Columbia, Missouri; granddaughter, Rebecca Livengood Leach and husband Tyson, great-grandsons Lucas, Landon and Levi of Columbia, Missouri; grandson, Micah Francisco of San Diego, California; grandson, Jesse Francisco and wife Amber, great-grandchildren Madison and Maddox of Columbia, Missouri; granddaughter, Jennica Francisco Gomez and great-granddaughters Gia and Ava of Columbia, Missouri; granddaughter, Juliana Francisco and fiancé Kendall Eckles of Columbia, Missouri; granddaughter, Susannah Livengood of Chapel Hill, Tennessee; granddaughter, Emily Livengood Branch and husband Taylor of Chattanooga; grandson, Chris Livengood of Johnson City, Tennessee and grandson Ben Livengood of Chapel Hill, Tennessee; sister, Emma Lutrell (Ed) of Savannah; brothers, James (Marcella) and Harris (Mary) Reynolds, both of Savannah, and Danny (Nancy) Reynolds of Foley, Alabama.
In addition to her parents, Roxie is preceded in death by her sisters, Rilla Worshum, Eldene Robinson and Irene Robinson; brothers, Frank Reynolds and Tommie Reynolds; and grandson-in-law, David Lomax.

Visitation was held at Shackelford Funeral Home in Savannah on Tuesday, July 17, 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m., immediately followed by formal service. Burial at Neill Cemetery, Savannah.
