Rosa Lee Clay Rosa Lee Clay, 93, of Jacks Creek, Tenn., died Monday, Nov. 29, at the Chester County Healthcare in Henderson, Tenn. She was born in Hardin County, the daughter of the late Thomas Jefferson and Ora Etta Phillips Downing. She was united in marriage to Herbert Nolen Clay, who preceded his wife in death. Mrs. Clay was a machine operator for Brown Shoe Company for 26 years. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Henderson, Tenn. Services were held on Wednesday, Dec. 1, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Aaron Terlecki, Wayne Bittle officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Hebron Cemetery at Wayne County. She is survived by two daughters, Sue Franks of Savannah and Mary Nell Castellaw of Germantown, Tenn.; two sons, Paul Clay of Goodlettsville, Tenn. and Ronnie Clay of Jacks Creek, Tenn.; nine grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Lillian Shepard of Marcellus, Mich.; and one brother, Herschel Downing of Waddy, Ky. She was also preceded in death by one great-grandchild; one sister, Thelma Copeland; and one brother, Hassell Downing.
