Ronnie Hammock departed this life on Tuesday, June 24, at the age of 64 years, 11 months, 2 days.
He was born in Counce on July 22, 1949, the son of the late Bud Hammock and Martha Tucker Hutcheson.
Ronnie (Ron-I) was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He lived in Hardin County and drove a truck for most of his life. He enjoyed fishing, his grandchildren and visiting with friends and family. Ronnie was a strong man who raised three daughters on his own and there was nothing he wouldn’t do for them. They were his life.
Ronnie is survived by his beloved daughters, Rachel Hammock of Trion, Ga., Marie Thompson of LaFayette, Ga., and Diann Hammock of Counce; grandchildren, Dewight Hicks, Josh Hicks, McKayla Hicks, Taylor Barfield and Steven Thompson; brothers, Donnie Hammock of Lafayette, Ga., and James Hammock of Counce; and sisters, Brenda Shelby of Counce, Nina Felker of Savannah, Carolyn Powell of Odenville, Ala., Glenda Jackson of Counce and Betty Vincent of LaFayette, Ga.
Services were held on Friday, June 27, at 1 p.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Danny Hicks officiating. Burial followed in the Fairview Cemetery at Iuka, Miss.
