Ronald Ray "Sid" Burks Sid Burks was born on Friday, June 17, 1955, in Selmer. He departed this life on Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012 at the age of 56 years, 7 months, and 23 days. He was the son of the late Melvin Ray Burks and Betty Jean Browder. He was united in marriage to Anita Vaye Foster, who survives, on Nov. 12, 1976. He was the owner and operator of Sid Burks and Sons Heating and Air in Adamsville, for 29 years. He was a member of Faithpointe Church in Adamsville, where he sang in the choir for 17 years. He was also a member of the "Adamsville Coffee Club." He enjoyed sports, camping, boating, working, having coffee with friends, playing with his granddaughter, and spending time with his loving wife. In addition to his wife, Anita, of Adamsville, he is survived by three sons, Brandon Burks and wife Jennifer, Brian Burks and wife Caley, and Blair Burks, all of Adamsville, five sisters, a granddaughter, Mia Kate Burks, daughter of Brian and Caley, and a grandson to be born in June, son of Brandon and Jennifer, as well as a host of extended family and friends. Funeral Services were held on Sunday, Feb. 12 at 3:30 p.m., at Faithpointe Church, with ministers Dave Boroughs and Phillip Meek officiating, Scott and Jennifer Melson coordinating music, along with past and present members of the Faithpointe Choir. Serving as pallbearers were Brandon Burks, Brian Burks, Blair Burks, Rickey Winningham, and Steve Browder, all of Adamsville, and Steve Wood of Saltillo. Burial followed at Pine Hill Memorial Gardens in Adamsville. Anita and sons would like to thank the customers of Sid Burks and Sons Heating and Air for their loyal dedication to Sid throughout the years, and ask for your continued support as the business carries on.
