Funeral services for Robert "Red" Henry Boone, 86, of Jackson, Tenn., were held Sunday, Dec. 5, in the chapel of Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home with Dr. Ronnie Wilburn officiating. Burial followed in Highland Memorial Gardens with military honors at the graveside.

Mr. Boone died Friday, Dec. 3, at the home of a daughter, Joyce Kay Crawford, following a long illness.

He was born in Madison County, son of the late Daniel H. and Minnie Myrtle Evans Boone and received his education in the Bemis Schools. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and was retired from Owens-Corning Fiberglass.

He was a member of Meridian Baptist Church and a member of West Tennessee Mini-Pullers Association. He enjoyed hunting and fishing his entire life and was an avid NASCAR fan.

He was married to Lois Virginia Rose Boone, who preceded him in death in 1999.

He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kimberly Brooks; great-grandddaughter, Anna Marie Boone; two sisters, Inez Trammell and Virginia Carbaugh.

Surviving are three daughters, Lois Marie Richardson and husband Buddy, Joyce Kay Crawford and husband Bill, all of Jackson, Tenn., Annie Rose Pomeroy and husband Bill of Bradford, Tenn.; two sons, Charles Wayne Boone and wife Susan of Savannah, and David Henry Boone of Jackson; sister, Bettye Rose and husband Lacy of Jackson; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.

The family requests memorials be made to the Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse.
