Robert Philip “Bobby” Millman, 68, of Savannah, died on Monday, Nov. 16.
He was born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts, the son of the late Leo and Mary Catherine Wallace Millman. He was united in marriage to LaDonna Jane Woodard, who survives.
Mr. Millman enlisted in the Army in July of 1968 and served his country honorably until November 1976, earning several medals: National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 3 Bronze Stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm, and Expert Rifle. He served in the Department of Defense Civil Service for 30 years, retiring in 2004.
He was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints of Corinth, Mississippi, National Rifle Association, VFW, Lions Club of Selmer and Disabled American Veterans.
He is survived by his wife, LaDonna Woodard Millman of Savannah; children, Gerard Philip Millman of Germany, Catherine Marie Millman Mentzer of Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, and James Thomas Millman of Burbank, California; four grandchildren; and sisters, Mary Millman Heatley of Rockland, Massachusetts and Theresa Millman Miller of Cheshire, Massachusetts.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Evelyn Marie Millman; and a brother, Leo John Millman.
Memorial donations may be made to the VFW Savannah Post 4606 Relief Fund, 950 Fisherville Loop, Morris Chapel, Tenn. 38361 or the Volunteer 6 Fire Department, Olivet-Walkertown, 3390 Hwy 226, Savannah, Tenn. 38372.
Services were held on Saturday, Nov. 21, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Ricky Howell and Philip Nelson officiating. Burial followed in West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery at Germantown, Tennessee.
