Robert H. Yeiser  Jr. departed this life peacefully at home in Florence, Alabama, on Tuesday, Sept. 23, at the age of 54. Bobby was born on May 28, 1960, in Savannah, and had lived for the past 20 years in Alabama where he worked for the City of Florence.
Bobby played football for the Hardin County Tigers throughout his high school years. He attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, and remained an enthusiastic supporter of the Vols until the time of his death. As often as possible he was in Neyland Stadium on Saturday afternoons when the Vols kicked off. He leaves behind a host of faithful friends from high school and college.
Bobby is survived by his parents, Anne and Jerry Trejo and Nina and Bob Yeiser, all of Pickwick; two sisters, Julianne (Richard Cole) of Knoxville and Ginna (David Wahoff) of Minneapolis, Minnesota; three nieces, Caitlin and Allie Davis and Lily Wahoff; two nephews, Jack and William Wahoff; his uncle, Grady Yeiser Jr. (Charlotte) of Savannah; his aunt, Julia Guy of Columbus, Ohio; and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ruth and J.R. Freeman and Carmen and Grady Yeiser Sr.; and his uncle, Jim Freeman (BJ) of Phoenix, Arizona.
Contributions in Bobby’s memory may be made to Pickwick United Methodist Church, Olivet Cumberland Presbyterian Church, or the charity of the donor’s choice.
Memorial services were held on Saturday, Sept. 27, at 1 p.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Jim Burcham, Duwayne Pounds and Ray Chandler officiating.
