Rayford Clinton Livengood, 95, of Savannah, passed away on Sunday, May 7, the son of the late Clinton Oswald and Lillie Welch Defoe Livengood. He was united in marriage to Roxie Lee Reynolds Livengood, who preceded him in death.
Mr. Livengood honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy. He worked in New York during 911. He worked as a operator for Alcoa Aluminum Company for 32 years. He was a member of Broadway Baptist and Prospect Baptist in Maryville, Tennessee, and Turkey Creek Baptist Church in Savannah. He was a builder of churches in Brazil doing missionary work.
He is survived by his daughters, Sandra Jayne Combs of Savannah, and Carol Livengood Francisco of Columbia, Missouri; 15 grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Kerry Livengood; sister, Lula Belle Saxton; and brothers, Charles Thomas Livengood and Van Troy Livengood.
Memoria services were held on Friday, May 12, at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Savannah, with Allen Livengood and Robin Ashe officiating. Burial followed at Neill Cemetery in Savannah.
