Peggy Brown Peggy Marie Brown, 65, of Savannah, died Thursday, Aug. 2, in Savannah. She was born in Hardin County, the daughter of the late Ashely Lee Smith and Jewel Helen Howard Smith. She was united in marriage to Edward Brown, who survives. Peggy worked for 18 years for Brown Shoe Company. Services were held on Saturday, Aug. 4, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Marcus Morrow officiating. Burial followed in the Savannah Cemetery. In addition to her husband Edward of Savannah, Peggy is survived by three daughters, Connie Smith of Baldwyn, Miss., Janet Brown of Savannah and Cindy Miller of Savannah; three grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two step-great-grandchildren; one sister, Caludia Gravett of Savannah. She was also preceded in death by one son; three sisters, Kathleen Melson, Bernice Melson and Ivgene Moore; and three brothers, Eugene (Bull) Smith, Jounior Smith and Willie Dee Smith.
