Opal Neill Jerrolds, 92, of Savannah, died Tuesday, June 4, in Savannah.
She was born in Hardin County, the daughter of the late Tone Andrew and Virgin Smith Neill. She was united in marriage to William O. (Billy) Jerrolds, who preceded his wife in death.
Mrs. Jerrolds worked for 20 years as a teacher’s aide for Hardin County High School and she had also worked at Hardin County General Hospital in the 1960s and 1970s. She was a member of Double Springs Baptist Church.Â
Services were held on Thursday, Â June 6, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Jack Maroon officiating. Burial followed in the Big Hill Cemetery at Savannah.
She is survived by two sons, Mike and Phillip Jerrolds, both of Savannah; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Richard Clay Jerrolds; four sisters, Bessie Jerrolds, Edith Jerrolds, Alpha Neill and Mary Neill; and three brothers, Hardin, Dewey and James (Jim) Neill.
