Onedia Pickens Franks, 83, of Savannah, died on Wednesday, July 4.
She was born in Hardin County, the daughter of the late Sam and Mackie Wilkerson Pickens. She later married Roy Eugene Franks, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Franks attended Southside Baptist Church. She worked at Brown Shoe Company for nearly 30 years.
She is survived by her daughters, Betty Thomas of Wynona, Mississippi, Barbara Gilmore of Corinth, Mississippi, and Belinda Howard and Beverly Steeley, both of Savannah; nine grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sons, Bobby Franks and Bruce Franks; brothers, Lloyd Pickens and Sam Pickens Jr.; sister, Katherine Pickens; half-brothers, Jim Pickens and Jake Pickens; and half-sisters, Lucille Williams, Betty Lou Tolbert, Evelyn Smith and Johnnie Ruth Webb.
Services were held on Saturday, July 7, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Benny Taylor officiating. Burial followed in Wilkerson Cemetery at Savannah.
