Myrna Hurst Funeral services for Myrna Laverne Hurst, 73, were Monday, Sept. 27, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Dennis Smith officiating. Burial was in the Forrest Memorial Park Cemetery near Corinth. Ms. Hurst died on Friday, Sept. 24, at the Whitfield Nursing Home in Corinth where she was a resident. She was born on Thursday, April 10, in Memphis, to the late Leon and Jewel Holden Roach. During her life, she was a housewife and enjoyed to sew, make crafts, garden and cook, but above all, she loved to spend time with her family. She was a long time member of First Baptist Church where she loved her Sunday School class. She was also a member of the Town and Country Club. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Thomas J. Hurst Jr.; one grandson Alex Hurst; and one sister Shirley Yancey. She is survived by two daughters, Pam Sample and husband Ricky of Savannah, Pat Lancaster and husband Harold; and a son, Jeff Hurst, all of Corinth; five grandchildren, Todd Lancaster, Mandy Lancaster Louge and her husband Trey, Emily Sample Spiceland and her husband Jonathan, Thomas J. Hurst IV and Rick Sample Jr.; four great-grandchildren; and one brother, Bill A. Roach of Vermilion, Ohio. Memorials may be made to The Alzheimer’s Association.
