Mollie Nichols

Mollie Sparks Nichols, 64, of Savannah, died Friday, Sept. 28, at her residence.

She was born in Hardin County to the late John and Lizzie Bumpus Sparks.

Ms. Nichols was a supervisor at Brown Shoe Company for several years and a quality control advisor for Angelica Uniforms Group for 17 years. She was the secretary of Sunday school and financial secretary for the fundraising committee at St. Mark M.B. Church. She was also selected vice president of the Tennessee River Missionary Baptist District Association of January 2009.

Services were held on Monday, Oct. 1, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Charles Daniels officiating. Burial followed in the Memory Gardens at Savannah.

She is survived by one daughter, Cherryl Sparks Lewis of Columbus, Ga.; one son, James Sparks of Savannah; five grandchildren; one great-grandson; two brothers, C.B. and William Sparks of Savannah.

She was also preceded in death by four brothers, John, Tommy, Sammy, and Forace; two sisters, Dona Sparks Casey and Gladys Sparks.
