Melvin Oscar White, 69, of Savannah, died on Thursday, April 19.
He was born in Hardin County, the son of the late Oscar Melvin and Dovie Louise Higgins White. He was united in marriage to Rebecca Catherine Kirkpatrick, who preceded him in death.
Mr. White was a member of Barnhill United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his daughter, Robin White Milhorn of Murfreesboro; sisters, Betty Garner of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, Frances Wiggington of Crossroads, Misssissippi, Kathy Broyles of Savannah; Beauton Sharp of Savannah; and two grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Larry White; and sister, Willadean Smith.
To honor Melvin’s wishes, graveside services were held at Savannah Cemetery on Sunday, April 22, with Justin Warren officiating.
