Melvin Melson

Melvin Michael Melson, 49, of Savannah, died Tuesday, March 2, at the Hardin Medical Center.

He was born in Harvard, Ill., to Lola Mae McClain Janis and the late Robert Taylor Melson.

Mr. Melson was a disabled truck driver, who had worked for The Hardin County Nursery, as well as Clayton Mobile Homes. He was a member of Hope Ministries.

Services were held on Friday, March 5, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Lynn Stevenson officiating. Burial was in the Milledgeville Cemetery.

In addition to his mother, Lola Janis, he is survived by two sisters, Chief Warrant Officer W-5 Robbie Tylene Pitts of Stockbridge, Ga., and Sherry Michell Timm of Poplar Grove, Ill.
