Melvin Carroll Melvin "Uncle" Carroll, 62, of Michie, died Tuesday, April 5, in Savannah. He was born in Iuka, Miss., the son of the late Harris and Grace Anditon Carroll. Mr. Carroll was a retired construction worker. He was a member of West Shiloh Baptist Church in Stantonville, Tenn. He was a United States Marine Corps Veteran. Services were held on Saturday, April 9, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Dwain Ard, Frank Williams officiating. Burial was in the Pisgah Cemetery at Shiloh. He is survived by two daughters, Amanda Denise Carroll of Selmer and Mary Suzanne Carroll King of Reagan, Tenn.; two grandchildren; four sisters, Stella Ray of Spring City, Tenn., Ann Williams of Booneville, Miss., Linda Ard of Tupelo, Miss. and Josie Morris of Michie; two brothers, Neal Carroll of Ft. Towson, Okla. and Wayne Carroll of Michie. He was also preceded in death by one son, Jon Christopher Carroll; and four sisters, Jeanette Patterson, Myra Byrd, Judy Gober and Alma Crowley.
