Mary Ganus

Mary Plunk Ganus, 94, of Crump, died Saturday, July 31.

She was born in Hardin County, the daughter of the late John William and Paralee Johnson Plunk. She was united in marriage to James F. "Jamie" Ganus, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Ganus was worked for the Postal Service as Postmaster in Crump, and as a school teacher. She was a member of the Christian Assembly United Pentecostal Church in Adamsville. She served as secretary for Crump Pentecostal Church from 1940-1955, as a Sunday school teacher and secretary for 13 years at the United Pentecostal Church in Savannah, and as the Ladies Auxiliary president for Section Six for several years at Crump Pentecostal Church.

Services were held on Wednesday, Aug. 4, at Christian Assembly United Pentecostal Church in Adamsville with Billy White, W.D. McCollum officiating. Burial was in the Crump Cemetery.

She is survived by two half-sisters, Evelene Phillips of Savannah and Magalene Michael of Los Angeles, Calif.; a host of nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a sister, Mayzella Crow; four brothers, Lonie, Howard, Gile, and Roy Plunk.
