Mary Beth Holt
Mary Beth Holt was born in Hardin County on Jan. 29, 1938, the daughter of the late James Wilson and Margaret Kelly Riddell.
On July 9, 1960, she was united in marriage to Glenn Holt, who preceded his wife in death on April 8, 2002.
Mrs. Holt retired after 47 years as a beautician in Savannah and she also had worked at Big Star grocery as a cashier. Mrs. Holt was a member of Double Springs Baptist Church in Savannah. She was known for great penmanship and made hand painted signs for grocery stores before we had computers.
Mrs. Holt departed this life on Thursday, May 23, in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 75 years, 3 months and 24 days.
She is survived by her children, Rickie Bradford and his wife Sheila of Savannah, and Janet Waggoner and her husband Ray of Savannah; one sister, Joyce Pierce of Savannah and one brother, Jerry Riddell of Savannah; eight grandchildren, Chip Harrison, Kelly Childers and her husband Trent, Morgan Stricklin and her husband James, Brad Waggoner and his wife Heather, Ryan Waggoner and his wife Elizabeth, Courtney Waggoner Presley and her husband Ben, Misti Bradford and Miranda Hunt and her husband Derrick; 11 great-grandchildren, Holt Waggoner, Lacey Waggoner, Colby Jane Waggoner, Kannon Waggoner, Kira Banks, Keagon Banks, Annie Hunt, Haley Pigg, Cedric Pigg, Jocelyn Stricklin and Tyler Stricklin.
Services were held on Sunday, May 26, at 3 p.m. at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Jack Maroon, Jim Chamblee officiating. Burial followed in the Neill Cemetery at Savannah.
