Martha Stanfill Martha Smith Stanfill, 91, of Savannah, died Saturday, Aug. 20, in Savannah. She was born in Chester County, Tenn., the daughter of the late James E. and Hattie Flatt Smith. She was united in marriage to Bynum Stanfill, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Stanfill was a homemaker. She was a member of River Heights Pentecostal Church for 40 plus years. Services were held on Wednesday, Aug. 24, at River Heights Pentecostal Church in Crump with Jerry Gibbs, William Duke officiating. Burial followed in the Memory Gardens at Savannah. She is survived by five daughters, Liz Taylor of Jackson, Tenn., Velma Robinson, Edna Browder and Barbara Taylor, all of Savannah and Janet Robertson of Adamsville; one son, Larry Stanfill of Savannah; 20 grandchildren, 12 step-grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great-grandchildren and one foster granddaughter. She was also preceded in death by three daughters, Fredda Stanfill, Oleta McLemore and Linda Cook; two sons, Earl and Tommy Joe Stanfill; six sisters, Artie Mae Marshall, Audrey Wilson, Eva Cummings, Ruth Duke, Nola Proctor and Willie Creamer; one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
