Martha Gower (12-14-13) service 12-16-13

Martha Harrison Gower, 95, died on Saturday, Dec. 14. Ms. Gower was born in Hardin County, the daughter of the late Harvey and Tishie Shelby Harrison. She was united in marriage to Carl Montee Gower, who preceded her in death.

She was a member of Savannah Church of Christ and had worked at the Kerr Dairy Farm.

Ms. Gower is survived by two daughters, Jennifer Copeland and Helen Hollis of Savannah; a son, Carl Gower Jr. of Counce; seven grandchildren; ten greatgrandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Shelby, Boyd, Grady and Alva Harrison; three sisters, Helen Lawson, Lillian Johnson and Archie Sinclair; and a greatgrandchild, Shelby Franks.

Services were held on Monday, Dec. 16, in Savannah with Jim Chamblee and Westley Hazel officiating. Burial followed at Memory Gardens in Savannah.
