Marilyn Reid Marilyn Reid was born in Minden, La., on Sept. 27, 1966, the daughter of the late Joan Marilyn Venable Godwin. On April 20, 1984, she was united in marriage to Billy Kristopher Reid, who survives. Marilyn was a homemaker and was a volunteer for the Hardin County Chamber of Commerce for many years. Marilyn was a loving mother and wife. She loved being on the lake and river where she enjoyed tubing, boating, jet skiing and fishing. Her favorite time of the year was summer. She departed this life on Saturday, Oct. 13, at the age of 46 years and 16 days. In addition to her husband Billy Kristopher Reid of Savannah, Marilyn is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Nicole Reid Tuma of Pineville, La.; two grandchildren, Joanna Marie Tuma and Isabella Renee Tuma; one sister, Teresa Lynn Godwin of Minden, La. and one brother, Russell Dale Godwin of Minden, La. In addition to her mother, she was also preceded in death by one son, Billy Mac Reid II, also known as Duce. Services were held on Monday, Oct. 15, at 11 a.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Benny Taylor officiating. Burial followed in the Memory Gardens at Savannah.
