Martha Marie Couch Coursey, age 93, passed away on Tuesday, March 20, in Gallatin, Tennessee.
Marie was born on March 21, 1924, in Savannah, at home to Carlos Garfield and Rhoda Ann Bundrant Couch.
Marie worked as a Rosie Riveter for Vultee Aircraft. She loved being outdoors and gardening. She had a talent of being a great seamstress and was an excellent cook. She had a strong love for the Lord and her family. She cherished greatly the life that she had been blessed with.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband of 26 years, Emmett Clay Coursey; siblings, J.D. Couch, Glenn Couch, Lawrence Couch, Thomas Couch, Lola Couch Hightower and Sarah Couch Finn.
Marie is survived by son, Michael Emmett Coursey; two daughters, Bettina Sherrie Melhus and Linda Gail Otool; grandchildren, Katherine Elizabeth, Joseph, Danny, William, Johnathon, Brandon Allen, Jeffrey Michael; great-grandchildren, Emerson Parker Hickey, Madyson, Clair and Olyvia. She is also survived by a host of relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Monday, March 26, from 4-8 p.m., at Spring Hill Funeral Home with an additional visitation held on Tuesday, March 27, from 12 p.m. until the time of service beginning at 1 p.m. at Spring Hill Funeral Home. Interment followed in the Historic Spring Hill Cemetery.
