Margaret Marler Margaret Marler, 94, of Savannah, died Thursday, Oct. 21, at the Hardin Medical Center. She was born in Lynchburg, Tenn., the daughter of the late Thomas Wilson and Marian Alice Parkes Pitts. She was united in marriage to John Thomas Marler, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Marler was a retired first grade school teacher. She attended East End United Methodist Church. A graveside service was held on Monday, Oct. 25, at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Nashville with Arden Schlesinger officiating. She is survived by one daughter, Janice Cagle of Savannah; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Ruth Bolton; and one brother, William Pitts.
