Margaret Broyles Margaret Broyles was born in Hardin County on July 1, 1934, the daughter of the late James Earl Franks and Evelyn Victoria Copeland Franks Baugus. On Jan. 15, 1950, Margaret was united in marriage to Harlon (Harley) Broyles, who survives. Margaret was a fancy stitcher for Brown Shoe Company for 39 years. She was a member of New Harmony Baptist Church. Margaret lived in Hardin County all of her life. She loved writing poetry and she most of all loved flower gardening and all type of yard work. Margaret departed this life on Monday, July 30, in Savannah, at the age of 78 years and 29 days. In addition to her husband Harlon of Savannah, she is survived by one daughter, Diane Powell and her husband Gary of Savannah; one granddaughter, Amber Powell Brock and her husband Nick of Savannah; one great-granddaughter, Alexis Nicole Brock of Savannah; one sister, Katherine Adcox of Savannah. Margaret was also preceded in death by her stepfather, Elva Baugus; and one brother, Robert Earl Franks. Services will be held on Thursday, Aug. 2, at 3 p.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Tony Polk officiating. Burial followed in the Memory Gardens at Savannah.
