Mack Petty, 70, of Savannah, died on Thursday, March 15.
He was born in Hardin County, the son of the late Hester Tidwell Steakley and Tom Petty.
Mr. Petty worked as a log turner at the sawmill.
He is survived by his children, Michael Joe Petty, Anthony Dewayne Petty, Joann Petty, all of Savannah, and Jim Lee Petty of Enville; stepson, Jason Ayers; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers, Bob Petty of Mississippi, Ricky Petty of Savannah and Travis Petty of Lexington, Tennessee; sisters, Billy Faye Ward, Mary Petty, Tina McClain and Della Mae Myers, all of Savannah; and half sister, Grace White of Selmer.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Debbie Ann Petty; brothers, Thommy Jack Petty and Will J. Petty; sister, Carolyn Melson; half brothers, Jake Petty, Buck Petty and Joe Petty; and half sister, Sarah Parson.
Services were held on Tuesday, March 20, at Souls Harvest Church in Savannah with Bobby Pickens officiating. Burial followed in Wesley’s Chapel Church Cemetery at Savannah.
