Louise Shelby Louise Franks Shelby, 89, of Savannah, died Wednesday, Sept. 21, in Savannah. She was born in Hardin County, the daughter of the late Leslie Hobert and Maggie Stricklin Franks. She was united in marriage to Clarence Franks, who preceded her in death in 1989. Later she was united in marriage to Milton Shelby, who preceded her in death in 2009. Mrs. Shelby was a homemaker. She was a member of Olivet Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Services were held on Saturday, Sept. 24, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Duwayne Pounds officiating. Burial followed in the Memory Gardens. She is survived by two step-daughters, Doris Shelby of Stantonville and Cora Lou Montgomery of Florence, Ala.; one step-son, Jimmy Shelby of Savannah; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Margreat Sue Orr of Memphis and Dorothy Irvin Ray of Savannah. She was also preceded in death by one step-son, Leo Franks; and two sisters, Hazel Appenzellar and Annie Kate Young.
