Lorene Melson Lorene White Melson, 71, of Savannah, died Monday, Feb. 7. She was born in Hardin County, the daughter of the late Herbert Charlie and Annie Florence Bonee White. She was united in marriage to John Henry Melson, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Melson was a homemaker. Services were held on Wednesday, Feb. 9, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Ronnie Sanders officiating. Burial was in the Havana Cemetery at Hardin County. She is survived by a son, Jeff Melson of Savannah; a daughter, Judy McMahan of Savannah; a brother, Dock White of Savannah; four sisters, Joyce Boroughs and Etta Stricklin, both of Savannah, Ruby Hobbs of Clifton and Thelma Casuater of Marked Tree, Ark.; 17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Lillie Hayes and Willie White; three brothers, Robert, Franklin and Hubert White; a grandchild.
