Lessie Whitlow (1-21-14) service 1-23-14

Lessie Whitlow,  91, of Savannah, died Tuesday, Jan. 21. She was born in Hardin County, the daughter of the late Wesley and Alma Shutt. She was united in marriage to Barney Whitlow, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Whitlow retired as the bookkeeper of the Hardin County Farmers Co-op. She was a member of Olivet Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by a son, Tommy Whitlow of Memphis and a daughter, Mary Jean Gresham of Little Rock, Ark.; two sisters, Mary Neill of Savannah and Nell Neill of Somerville; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Barney, she was preceded in death by a brother, Malone Shutt and two sisters, Lois Rhea and Winnie Galloway.

Service was held Thursday, Jan. 23, in Savannah with Duwayne Pounds officiating. Burial followed at Mt. Herman Cemetery in Hardin County.
