Leroy Oakley Jr. Leroy Oakley Jr., of Counce, was born in Hardin County, on July 3, 1962, the son of Leroy and Johnnie Pearl Prim Oakley. Mr. Oakley was employed as an airport runway striper for Traffic Associated Systems. He had previously worked for Jay Barker Landscaping, Savannah Furniture Exchange, and had been a member of the National Guard. He loved fishing, hunting, family and friends. Mr. Oakley departed this life on Saturday, June 25, at the age of 48 years, 11 months, 22 days. In addition to his parents, he is survived by three sisters, Rita Nichols, Cecilia Thompson and Ramona Oakley, all of Savannah; three brothers, Lee Oakley, Johnny Oakley, both of Savannah, and Thomas Oakley of Iowa City, Iowa; fiancée, Kay Grimes of Counce. Services were held on Wednesday, June 29, at 1 p.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Rev. Eddie Payne, Rev. Arthur Cunningham, Rev. Lancey Robinson and Minister Jack Barker officiating. Burial followed in the Memory Gardens at Savannah.
