Larry Joe Franks, 59, of Savannah, died on Saturday, Nov. 1, at the Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville.
He was the son of Jacqueline Stricklin Franks and the late Oscar Kenneth Franks. He was united in marriage to Vernice Claudia Shepherd of Savannah, who survives.
Mr. Franks was a self-employed carpenter.
In addition to his wife and mother, Larry is survived by his four daughters, Candie Mayes and Amber Franks, both of Savannah, Amanda Franks of Waterloo, Alabama, and Joanie Daniel of Collinwood; one sister, Janice Averett of Savannah; and seven grandchildren.
Services were held on Friday, Nov. 7, at Abrams Chapel Church in Savannah with Daniel Holt officiating. Burial followed in the Germany Branch Cemetery at Savannah.
