Kenneth Short departed this life on Thursday, Aug. 21, at the age of 70 years, 2 months, 21 days.
He was born in Lawrence County, Tenn., on May 31, 1944, the son of the late Walker Jesse and Carrie Lee Malone Short. On Sept. 28, 1968, he was united in marriage to Glenda Dale Hime, who survives.
Kenneth had worked for Vulcan Materials for 38 years and was a plant mechanic. He enjoyed fishing and camping.
Kenneth is survived by his wife of 46 years, Glenda D. Short of Savannah; children, Greg A. Short of Adamsville, Ken Short and Pam Short, both of Savannah; grandchildren, Joey Parrott Jr., Jessica Brown, Jason Brown Jr., Gregory Alan Short Jr., Brandon Edward Short, Kayla Nicole Short; stepgrandchild, Breanna Childers; great-grandchildren, Aden Parrott, Kyrie Parrott, and Alexis Vaughn; brothers, Roger Short, Bobby Short, Jackie Short and Jesse Short, all of Savannah; sisters, and two sisters, Faye Alexander of Morris Chapel and Jo Keeter of Franklin, Tenn.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Mack Short.
Services were held on Sunday, Aug. 24, at 3 p.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Shayne Riley and Larry Paul Rich officiating. Burial followed in Mt. Hermon Cemetery at Savannah.
