Kenneth Douglas Alexander, 79, of Adamsville, died Friday, July 4, in Jackson, Tenn.
He was born in Hardin County, the son of the late Edward and Myrtle Seaton Alexander. He was united in marriage to Bonnie Marie Sharp, who survives.
Mr. Alexander was a truck driver for Jewel Foodstores in Melrose Park, Ill. He also had worked at West Towns Bus Company, Brock Candy Company and worked with his father-in-law as a housebuilder. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Adamsville.
In addition to his wife Bonnie, he is survived by two daughters, Sharon Alexander Gonwa of Berwyn, Ill., and Donna Alexander of Adamsville; four grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Joyce Alexander Stewart of Savannah and Laura Alexander Smith of Muscle Shoals, Ala.; and two brothers, Jackie Alexander of Morris Chapel and Edward Alexander Jr. of Adamsville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Willie Alexander Carter; and one brother, James Alexander.
Services were held on Monday, July 7, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Phil Mitchell officiating. Burial followed in the Hollands Creek Cemetery at Savannah.
