Joshua Toma Joshua Albert Toma was born in Elkhart, Ind., on Sept. 28, 1987, the son of John Albert and Mary Ann Banks Toma. On Oct. 17, 2008, he was united in marriage to Cynthia Dawn Houck, who survives. Mr. Toma was a coal miner for Kingston Coal Mines. He enjoyed basketball, hunting and extreme sports. Mr. Toma was a former resident of Elkhart County, Ind., and Savannah. He departed this life on Aug. 7, in Rainel, W.Va. at the age of 22 years, 10 months and 10 days. In addition to his wife, Cynthia of Fayetteville, W.Va., he is survived by one son, Kholton Dean Toma of Fayetteville, W.Va.; his father, John Albert Toma of Houston, Texas and his mother, Mary Ann Banks Toma of Savannah; two sisters, Jennica Ann Toma and Jessica Lee Toma, both of Savannah; his grandparents, Morris Banks Jr. of Savannah and Beverly Toma of Knox, Ind. Mr. Toma was preceded in death by his grandmother, Anna Yvonne Tidwell Banks and his grandfather, Warren Toma. Services were held on Saturday, August 14, at 3 p.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with David Dowdy officiating. Burial was in the Hollands Creek Cemetery at Hardin County.
