John “Poor Excuse” Provence, 46, of Savannah, died Monday, Dec. 8, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tennessee.
He was son to John Howard Provence and Carolyn Jean Funk Vincent, who survive. He was united in marriage to Patty Smith, who also survives.
Mr. Provence worked for Vincent Trucking as a truck escort. He was also a member of the Mount Hermon Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife and parents,  he is survived by his children, Megan Page Provence of Jackson, Tennessee, Mariah Ann Provence and Isabella Nichole Provence, both of Savannah; one brother, Joseph Frank Provence of Savannah; one stepsister, Becky Ann Qualls of Adamsville; one stepbrother, John Wayne Vincent of Lexington, Kentucky; stepfather, Thomas Wayne Vincent of Savannah; and one grandchild.
Services were held on Sunday, Dec. 14, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Ricky Garrard officiating.
