Joe Willard Terry departed this life on Wednesday, Dec. 3, at Hardin Medical Center in Savannah, at the age of 81 years, 6 months, and 7 days. He was born in Crockett County on May 26, 1933, to the late Marshall (Toad) William and Lola Maybelle Durbin Terry. He was united in marriage to Betty Edith Weaver on Nov. 14, 1969, who survives.
Mr. Terry was a retired truck driver for Reed Trucking. He was also a member of Crump Pentecostal Church in Crump. He loved to visit the flea market, go fishing and watch baseball.
In addition to his wife, Betty, he is survived by his children, Glasson Ray Weaver of Memphis, Donna Seaton and her husband, Greg, of Savannah, Rhonda Borman and her husband, Tom, of Counce, Beverely Harris and her husband, Johnny, of Savannah, Marita Briley and her husband, Donovan, of Texas, Amanda Henson and her husband, Allen, of Counce, and Wanda Crawford and her husband, James, of Milledgeville; his brother, Doug Terry of Michie; his sister, Robie Alred of Milledgeville; his grandchildren, Maggie Weaver, Emily Weaver, Corey Seaton, Joshua Seaton, Trevor Borman, Tyler Harris, Sam Harris, Decaleb Briley, Christopher Briley, Dakota King, Hannah Henson, Kayla Henson, Amanda Joyce Henson, Heather West, Virginia Helton, David Terry, Shannon Crawford, Chrissy and Adra McFerson; his 11 great-grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Karen Terry of Michie.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his child, Larry Joe Terry; his siblings, Gladys George, Johnny Terry, Wilma Bowden and Bill Terry; and his grandchild, Casey Harris.
Services were held on Saturday, Dec. 6, at 11 a.m., at Crump First Pentecostal Church in Crump with Gene Hanna and Philip Meek officiating. Burial followed in Cromwell South Shiloh Cemetery at Hardin County.
