Joe Kate Copeland, 84, of Enville, died Saturday, June 22, in Jackson, Tenn.
She was born in Hardin County, the daughter of the late Frank and Martha Irwin Southern. She was united in marriage to Glen Copeland, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Copeland was a homemaker and she was a member of Spoken Word Ministry in Savannah.Â
Services were held on Tuesday, June 25, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with J.P. Gillis officiating. Burial followed in the Piney Grove Cemetery at Hardin County.
She is survived by her children, Roy Curtis Copeland and James Milton Copeland, both of Savannah, and Margaret Carolyn Harville of Enville; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jeweline Dean Copeland and Ann Southern, both of Savannah; and two brothers, Frank Southern Jr., and Millard Southern, both of Savannah.
She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Dorothy Marie Copeland; two brothers, Alford and Edward Lee Southern.
