Joe Gibbs Joe Gibbs was born in Morris Chapel, on June 16, 1933, the son of the late Finley Edgar and Birdie Harue Moffett Gibbs. On Jan. 3, 1952, he was united in marriage to Lois Marie Norwood, who survives. Mr. Gibbs was a lifelong resident of Crump. He had worked for B&B Construction, Paul Davis Construction, Brown Shoe Company, and had also been a commercial fisherman. He was a member of Freewill Baptist Church of Adamsville and attended New Hope Fellowship Church. He loved fishing, traveling in his motorhome, and working in his shop. He liked going to auctions and spending time with his family. Mr. Gibbs departed this life on Sunday, Feb. 13, at the age of 77 years, 7 months, 28 days. In addition to his wife, Lois, he is survived by three sons, Danny Gibbs of Crump, Eddie Gibbs and Jerry Gibbs, both of Adamsville; three daughters, Phyllis James of Adamsville, Vickie Breaux of Southaven, Miss. and Pamela McCasland of Crump; six brothers, Faye Gibbs, Ray Gibbs, Bobby Gibbs, Billy Gibbs, all of Adamsville, Kenny Gibbs of Savannah and Donny Gibbs of Stantonville, Tenn.; a sister, Martha Davey of Adamsville; 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, John Elmer Gibbs, William Miles Gibbs and Hoover Gibbs; three sisters, Charlyne Powell, Margaret Scott and Louise Watson. Services were held on Wednesday, Feb. 16, at 1 p.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Adamsville with Bill McCall, Mike Kelley officiating. Burial was in the Crump Cemetery at Crump, Tenn.
