Jimmy Whitlow Jimmy Whitlow was born in Hardin County on Aug. 25, 1939, the son of the late Raymond Elgin and Margaret Jerrolds Whitlow. On Jan. 22, 1960, he was united in marriage to Ruth Robertson of Savannah, Tennessee, who survives. Mr. Whitlow, a lifelong Hardin Countian, worked as a construction superintendent for Ashland Paving and Concrete. He enjoyed farming, raising, gardening, fishing, and working outdoors. He was a member of the Pickwick Bass Masters, the Double Springs Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and a Sunday school teacher. Mr. Whitlow departed this life on Monday, Nov. 14, at the age of 72 years, 2 months, 20 days. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Whitlow of Savannah; a daughter, Karen Whitlow Talley and husband Fred of Savannah; a son, Jimmy Keith Whitlow and wife Betsy of Savannah; four grandchildren, Shannon Talley, April Grace Whitlow, Clagett Talley and Michele Talley Rowell; three great-grandchildren, Benjamin Rowell, Sarah Rowell and Tray Talley; three sisters, Helen Meredith of Pickwick, Sue Williams and Janey Adams, both of Savannah. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Eddie K. Whitlow. Services will be held on Thursday, Nov. 17, at 1 p.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Duwayne Pounds, Jack Maroon officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Hermon Cemetery at Hardin County.
