Funeral services to celebrate the life of Jeremie David Floyd were held on Monday, Sept. 2, at the Foote Street Church of Christ with Charles Curtis and Brad Dillingham officiating. Interment was in the White Sulphur Cemetery at Pickwick Landing State Park.
Jeremie died as a result of a boating accident on Saturday morning, Aug. 30, on the Tenn-Tom Waterway.
He was born in Booneville, Miss., on July 12, 1974, to Donnie Floyd and Bitsy Essary Floyd Nash.
He was a graduate of Alcorn Central High School, Class of 1992; pulled for Mississippi State (whether win or lose); always had a good time; smiled; joked; and played jokes on others; loved to fish and go duck hunting; played golf; but above all loved spending with his family and watching his sons play ball.
He was a pawn broker at Big Boys Pawn Shop in Corinth.
He was preceded in death by his step-father, Dwayne Nash; his paternal grandfather, O.B. Floyd; and his maternal grandmother, Wanda Lancaster.
Along with Jeremie’s parents, he is survived by his wife, Marsha Moffett Floyd; two sons, Seth Floyd and Cameron Witt; two brothers, Brett Nash and wife Jessica, and Brandon Nash; two sisters, Mandy Spencer and her husband Roger, and Madelyn Maupin; his stepmother, Kit Floyd; his paternal grandmother, Mildred Floyd; his maternal grandfather, Troy Lancaster; several nieces, nephews, co-workers, and a host of friends.
