Jeff Selby

Jeff D. Selby departed this life Saturday, June 23, at the age of 86 years, 1 month, 7 days.

Mr. Selby was born in Pope, Miss., on May 16, 1926, the son of the late Jesse and Pearl Ethridge Selby. On Sept. 3, 1955, he was united in marriage to Gail Adkisson, who survives.

Mr. Selby served our country honorably in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict. Once home he became the owner/operator of Jeff Selby Refrigeration Services. He was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church, Gideon International and a lifetime member of the VFW. He loved to fish, hunt and garden.

Mr. Selby is survived by his wife, Gail Selby of Savannah; daughters, Kathy Selby of Memphis and Sherri Rinks and husband Randy of Counce; grandchildren, Holly McDaniel and husband Chris, Heather James and husband Peter; great-grandchildren, Jack David McDaniel and Selby Ann McDaniel; sisters, Margie Harrington and Dean Gordon, both of Memphis, Nancy Harrison and Patsy Beacham, both of Marks, Miss.; brother, Travis Selby of Marks, Miss.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Billy, Sammy and Pete; sisters, Maxine Balentine and Rozelle Follearellie.

Services were held on Tuesday, June 26, at 11 a.m., at Hopewell Baptist Church in Savannah with Derek Westmoreland officiating. Burial followed in the Memory Gardens at Savannah.
